Ways to work
One-off consults, fixed-scope projects, and ongoing technical direction. The format depends on how often the decisions come up and what it takes to resolve them.
Engagements
Consult, project, or ongoing support
A consult resolves one decision. A project delivers a defined result. Ongoing support covers decisions that keep coming back.
Days
One-off consult
A second opinion on a vendor proposal, a data room review, or a technical assumption before signing. Most consults take one or two meetings.
Weeks
Project
Scope, timeline, and deliverables set in writing. The result may be a diagnosis, a model, a dashboard, or a full build, with a handover at the end.
Ongoing
Standing engagement
Technical direction for periodic decisions about what to build, buy, automate, and staff. The full scope is on the CTO page.
Process
From inquiry to handover
1
First conversation
Twenty minutes to define the decision, the deadline, and the information available.
2
Scope and proposal
Scope options, timeline, cost, and deliverables in writing. When useful, the proposal includes a mockup.
3
Execution and handover
The result is documented and, when it includes a tool, deployed to the agreed environment. The team that will use it receives a handover.
If the problem falls outside this scope, that gets settled in the first conversation.
