What the industry buys or waits for, measured from data that is already public

Ten live tools covering the Neuquén basin, the Puna and Argentina's gas grid, each one showing its source so your own people can redo the arithmetic.

Ground deformation velocity map over Vaca Muerta, measured by satellite radar
Vaca Muerta on Sentinel-1 radar: every pixel is how far the ground rose or sank between 2019 and 2026, with no instrument in the field.

Three out of ten

One number per area, and where it comes from

13 months

How far behind Argentina's official production registry runs. That is the window where the registry still says nothing about the basin — and night lights do.

19,671 claims

What you have to work around before filing. No national body puts them together: this map merges what six provinces publish, with the file number behind each polygon.

Month by month

Argentina's gas transport grid, segment by segment, flagging the ones under stress and splitting supply into conventional, unconventional, Bolivia and LNG.

What do you work on?

/ep/

Exploration & production

What's happening in the basin: competitor activity 13 months before the official registry, per-well decline, ground deformation and emissions by operator.

/mineria/

Mining

Who holds title to the ground, where to drill, how much rock moved and how fast a salar is building out — before paying for the field campaign.

/energia/

Gas & power marketing

Where the transport network binds, and what price is worth bidding when being wrong costs in both directions.

/research/

AI research

Interpretability and safety of language models. Different page, different tone.

Before you open anything

What you will not find here

Two sites stay current — the Vaca Muerta app and the mining title map. Everything else is frozen at the end of 2024. That is enough to judge the method and to see what can be measured without buying the data; it is not enough to run tomorrow's operation on. A fresh series over your own block or district is work, not a download.

Who is behind this

Matías Podeley. Eighteen years in energy — reservoir engineering, then business development, mostly on the side that hires the specialists. I build these tools myself, with public data and AI. Buenos Aires.
