Scope
What the role covers
Technical leadership connects operating work with technology decisions. It covers subsurface tools, production and commercial data, automation, and AI.
The engagement runs month to month. Priorities, contracts, and the split of work between people and models are reviewed on an agreed schedule.
For assignments with a defined end: consults and projects.
Responsibilities
Decisions in scope
How the work gets done
What gets automated, what a model can handle, and what stays with a person.
Which technology
What to buy, build, and retire, including subsurface software, data systems, and agents.
Who does it
Which roles to hire, what to outsource, and when to bring in a specialist for one project.
When it gets revisited
How often to review contracts, integrations, processes, and responsibilities.
When it fits
Part-time leadership
This format is for a small or midsize operator, a gas marketer, a junior miner, or a new company that needs technical direction without filling a full-time position.
It does not include IT support, networks, or ERP administration. Work that requires a larger build gets its own internal or external project team.
